How to use
The Natural Response nipple adapts to the baby’s natural sucking rhythm, making it easier to switch between breastfeeding and bottle feeding. Its unique opening design ensures milk only flows when the baby actively sucks, allowing natural pauses for swallowing and breathing. Instructions for Use:
1. Before first use, sterilize all parts of the bottle, including the nipple, ring, and bottle itself, in boiling water for 5 minutes or using a Philips Avent sterilizer. 2. Assemble the bottle by placing the nipple through the ring and screwing the ring onto the bottle. 3. Fill the bottle with the desired amount of breast milk or formula, ensuring the liquid level is below the nipple ring. 4. Hold the baby in a comfortable feeding position, supporting their head and neck. 5. Gently touch the baby's lips with the nipple to encourage them to latch. 6. Allow the baby to control the pace of feeding, pausing and breathing as needed. The Natural Response nipple releases milk only when the baby actively sucks. 7. After feeding, disassemble the bottle and clean all parts thoroughly with warm soapy water or in a dishwasher (top rack only). 8. Allow all parts to air dry completely before reassembling.
Recommended Frequency:
Use the Philips Avent Natural Response Bottle as needed for feeding, whether supplementing breastfeeding or as the primary feeding method. This bottle is suitable for babies 3 months and older and uses a Flow 4 nipple.
Additional Tips:
1. Always inspect the nipple before each use for any signs of damage or wear and replace if necessary. 2. To prevent nipple collapse, ensure the vent in the nipple base remains open during feeding. 3. Gently tilt the bottle to keep the nipple full of milk and minimize air intake. 4. Never microwave the bottle with liquid inside, as this can create hot spots and burn the baby. 5. For optimal hygiene, replace nipples every 3 months. 6. This bottle is designed to work with the Natural Response nipple; using other nipples may affect its performance.
