
The Italian Gianni Versace had a good taste for fashion since childhood, when he helped his mother to embroider dresses with precious stones and gold thread. After studying architecture, Genny and Callaghan brands hired him to design their collections. In the mid 70’s he presented his first womenswear collection in the art museum, Palazzo della Permanente in Milan and a few months later he presented his menswear.
In 1978, Gianni Versace S.p.A was launched with the opening of his first store in Milan Via della Spiga. Fame and prestige in the fashion industry was gained, and he began marketing other products such as accessories, luxury furniture, perfumes and cosmetics. In Summer ‘97 the designer was killed and since then the direction of the brand is in the hands of his sister Donatella. Nowadays, it has has a wide range of perfumes for men and women.
