MEDELA
How to use
Solo™, the breast pump that is effortless to use. It has very few parts, making it easy to clean and assemble. With its intuitive 4-button interface and 9 pre-programmed settings, this simple electric breast pump is extremely easy to use.
Express milk anywhere, even if there is no power outlet.
With the innovative USB Type-C connector available on the Solo™ single electric breast pump, the built-in rechargeable battery charges faster compared to the micro-USB port; it reaches up to six pumping sessions on a full charge.
2-Phase Expression® Technology
During a feeding session, babies start by using short, quick sucks to stimulate the milk ejection reflex. When the milk starts to flow, they switch to a slower, individual rhythm. Medela's 2-Phase Expression® technology simulates the baby's natural sucking rhythm: first faster, to stimulate milk flow, then slower, to achieve optimal milk flow.
PersonalFit Flex Funnel
With a 105-degree opening angle, a soft rim and an oval shape for a better fit, the PersonalFit Flex™ funnel puts less pressure on your milk ducts compared to traditional funnels, giving you a more comfortable and efficient pumping experience. More comfort for you and up to 11.8% more milk for your baby - scientifically proven3.
Closed system
The closed system prevents breast milk from entering the tube, overflowing and leaking into the pumping mechanism. This helps ensure that expressed milk remains safe and clean, but also that the pump components are protected from damage.

Instructions for Use:
1. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water before handling the pump or any breast milk. 2. Assemble the PersonalFit Flex™ funnel onto the connector. 3. Connect the assembled connector to the breast shield. 4. Attach the breast shield to your breast, ensuring a comfortable and secure seal. The funnel should not compress your breast tissue. 5. Press the power button to turn on the pump. 6. The pump will automatically start in Stimulation Mode, mimicking a baby's rapid sucking to initiate milk flow.
7. Once milk flow is established (typically after 1-2 minutes), the pump will automatically switch to Expression Mode, a slower rhythm for optimal milk expression.
8. You can adjust the vacuum level using the "+" and "-" buttons to find a comfortable and effective setting. 9. When finished pumping, press the power button to turn off the pump. 10. Carefully detach the breast shield from your breast. 11. Disassemble the pump parts and wash them thoroughly with warm soapy water. Rinse well and allow to air dry completely before storing.
Recommended Frequency:
Pump as frequently as your baby would typically breastfeed. This generally ranges from 8-12 times per 24-hour period. Adjust the frequency and duration of pumping sessions to meet your individual needs and maintain your milk supply.
Additional Tips:
1. Find a comfortable and relaxed position while pumping. Stress can inhibit milk flow. 2. Apply warm compresses to your breasts before pumping to encourage milk let-down. 3. Gently massage your breasts during pumping to stimulate milk ducts. 4. Ensure the PersonalFit Flex™ funnel is the correct size for your nipple to maximize comfort and efficiency. Consult the sizing guide provided with the product. 5. Fully charge the pump before use to ensure optimal performance. The USB Type-C connector allows for faster charging. 6. Store expressed breast milk in appropriate containers in the refrigerator or freezer according to recommended guidelines. 7. Consult a lactation consultant or healthcare professional for personalized advice and support.
